Wedding Wednesday: Yes to the Dress

Share this post or pin it for later!

Wedding dress shopping was probably one of the wedding planning to-do’s that I was most looking forward to…and most nervous about. People kept telling me how it was the most important fashion decision of my life! Here are a few snaps from my road of saying “yes” to the dress. And don’t worry “the one” isn’t featured in this post (except for that last photo ;)). Gotta keep some things a secret until the big day!

The first boutique I went dress shopping (and where I found my dress) was Miosa Bride, which is an adorable boutique in downtown Sacramento that I’d seen and dreamed of shopping in since I was a little girl. I also went to The Wedding Party (pictured above) to try on more dresses with some of my girlfriends from grad school.

[above] My sister is hilarious. [below] I had a certain style in mind for my dress, but when the consultant asked if I wanted to also try something different from what was on my (secret) Pinterest board, I said why not. I was surprised by how much I liked this romantic a-line dress, and it was a top contender for a while. But it ended up being runner up. 🙂

[above] This Nicole Miller gown was gorgeous! It was a more modern style than what I was looking for (you can’t really tell in the photo but the material is different than the usual tulle, satin, or lace), but it was absolutely stunning. I could see this dress being perfect for a bride whose wedding was going to have an art deco vibe.

[above] Here’s a tiny sneak peek at “the one!” It was one of the first dresses I tried on at Miosa, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I literally dreamed about it! It was quite a bit out of my price range at the boutique, but I was determined to find it for less. There are ton of sites that sell pre-owned wedding dresses, and some of them have never been worn! I put together a boolean search string with these sites’ URLs, the designer’s name, and the dress style, and I’d plug that search string into Google every night (all the sourcing for engineers to join Google that I did last year paid off in ways I’d never imagined!). After a few weeks of this, I found her. My dress, brand new, with tags on. I ordered it and tried it on at home and got all teary eyed. I’d literally been dreaming about this dress and it was finally mine!

All the wedding dresses is so fashion you collected and share here with everyone, and i like the strapless wedding dresses so much, i think it will be a tendency.
