Midi Skirts – Midi skirts are also the perfect length for entering cathedrals, as many of them have rules that knees and above cannot be showing.

Bodysuits, tank tops, tees – Bring several tees, tank tops, and bodysuits in neutral colors that you can mix and match with your skirts and shorts.

Shorts with a little extra coverage – You’ll notice that even though it’s hot, European gals aren’t really running around in super short shorts. So to not look like a tourist, if you’re going to wear shorts I recommend going with ones with a little extra coverage, like the paper bag style shorts.

Light dresses – Easy breezy dresses in light and breathable fabrics will be your BFF.

A crossbody bag – Crossbody bags are perfect for European travel because they’re the least easy for a pick pocket to get into or grab and run off with.

Jacket – Even though it’s hot during the day, things do cool off at night, so you’ll want to bring one light jacket for going out in the evenings.

A scarf – This is more for entering cathedrals. Many of them have rules that you cannot enter with bare shoulders.

Comfortable shoes – You’ll be walking a lot! And you’ll also notice most Europeans don’t wear open-toed shoes (unless you’re by the beach), so comfortable flats are key.

Hair scarves – Hair scarves take any outfit from meh to glam! And since it’ll be hot and you’ll want to have your hair pulled up and back, hair scarves are great for making a ponytail look chic.

Thanks to Ibotta for sponsoring this post!

Thank you! It is a few years old from UNIQLO. They don't have the same striped one currently, but they do have some really cute midi skirts perfect for summer! http://bit.ly/31Fu3Ch
