Happy Monday, y’all! I’m so excited to share something special I’ve been working on with Mixbook today! You’re likely already familiar with Mixbook and know about their beautiful and easy to create photo books, but did you know that they also do custom home decor prints? I was so stoked to find this out because Omied and I have been wanting to add some personal touches to our home that showcase his incredible photography and remind us of some of our favorite travel adventures. Omied has taken some seriously amazing shots during our travels and I knew we had awesome shots that would look great blown up on a canvas print. Mixbook has several different options in their home decor section, including metal and acrylic prints, or poster prints if you wanted to frame your photo yourself. We ultimately decided on doing canvas prints because we think they’re simple and chic, and we already have a couple of our wedding photos as canvas prints at home.
Picking out which photos we were going to get printed on our canvases was half the fun. We started with the space over our couch, and after measuring that area and playing with the different dimensions available on Mixbook for canvas prints, decided on doing three vertical 30×20″ prints. I had the idea of choosing portrait shots with iconic buildings from three different places we’ve traveled to and loved, and we ended up going with a shot of the Eiffel Tower, Brooklyn Bridge, and Big Ben. Omied loves black and white photography and I’m usually all about the color, but in this case we both agreed that b&w would look super chic and tie all three canvases together.
Our bedroom was in desperate need of some decor love, especially over our bed. I wanted something dreamy and I knew the photo Omied and I took under the Northern Lights in Iceland last year would be perfect. And for our dining nook, I was searching for a photo that we could have above our dining table. This photo of oysters and rosé that we shot at a restaurant in Chicago turned out perfect and has been such a fun addition to our kitchen/dining area. It makes me want to pop open a bottle every time I see it! 😆🍾
The process on Mixbook for uploading and creating our canvas prints was super simple. Once you know what size print you want, you just upload your photo with their canvas print tool. If you want, you can do different layouts with multiple photos, or add different backgrounds, but we just kept it simple and did one, clean photo per canvas print. After that, your canvas prints magically appear at your doorstep! We’ve been absolutely loving our new canvas prints and they bring such a special touch to our home decor. Every time I see them, I’m reminded of some of our favorite adventures, and it gets me excited for our next trip. ✈️
A huge thank you to Mixbook for sponsoring this post and adding beautiful touches to our home!
