I talked about this on an Insta Live video a couple nights ago, but I recently did a vision and planning worksheet to kick off 2018 and set goals and intentions for the year. One of my favorite parts of this worksheet was a section where you go through and rank some relationships in different parts of your life, like your marriage, family, career, health, and home. After going through a series of questions you get a numerical ranking that let’s you clearly see where you’re feeling abundant in your life, and what parts of your life could use a little more love and energy. For me, areas like my marriage and relationship with my family made it to the top of the list. But one area that could really use some love and attention is my home. Which totally made sense after I took a step back to look at my results, because I definitely prioritize things like spending time with my husband and family, my work and my workouts, and at the end of the day I don’t really have time to pick up our apartment, or think about new decor or organization. So that’s why this year I’m putting some effort into a couple key aspects of our home, including creative storage and organization solutions (for our small, city-living one bedroom apartment), and new decor and furniture.
OUR MASTER BEDROOM MAKEOVER WITH WAYFAIR
Starting with our bedroom, I really wanted to get a new bed frame that had a stylish headboard as well as some drawers underneath for some additional storage space. This platform bed frame from Wayfair was perfect, and I love that when you order from Wayfair you can also check a box to schedule someone from Handy come and put together your furniture, and add that cost on to your total before you check out. Our Handy man was SO fast, I couldn’t believe it. The first thing I did was start to fill up one of my drawers with new products that I’d received from brands that I’ve been meaning to try but needed to be stored somewhere (besides the floor of my living room).
Since I use my bed for a number of other things besides sleep, like a space for reading, journaling, or blogging, I wanted to make sure it was super comfy and cozy. Wayfair was kind enough to also send us the Nora Mattress, which is known for being super supportive for the best sleep ever. The Nora is 12 inches thick with breathable layers and unique cooling technologies. And you can get it fast with free 2-day shipping. I loooove memory foam and basically never want to sleep on a regular mattress ever again. I’m loving our master bedroom makeover and set up thanks to Wayfair, and can’t wait to continue giving our bedroom a little facelift. Maybe a customizable storage closet next? Still workin’ Omied over that one.
