The Bean

We got up at the butt crack of dawn to take some shots with The Bean without a million people in it. Worth it? I think so. But there’s a reason I’m wearing sunglasses in these pictures, people. #nomakeup I am not, I repeat NOT, a morning person, especially when I’m on vacation, so I felt like I really deserved a special reward after doing this early morning shoot, and found that reward in the form of Top Chef winner Stephanie Izard’s Duck Duck Goat.

I’m soooo excited to share these photos from Duck Duck Goat because this was legit the best dim sum brunch I’ve ever had! Seriously, after everything we tried I would find myself saying, “Omg, that is the best ____ (insert potsticker, green beans, cha siu bao here).” Looking at this pics makes me happy and yet so sad—happy because I’m looking back at this amazing meal that was one of my favorites during our Chicago trip, and sad because I am now seriously craving Duck Duck Goat’s dim sum, but can’t have it right this very minute because it only exists far away in Chicago. All of this to say, if you’re in Chicago you absolutely must visit Stephanie Izard’s dim sum spot and get the duck fried rice, basically any and all of the dumplings, crab rangoons, octopus salad (not something I would have normally ordered but the chef sent it out to us and it was amazing!), and the duck and goat spring roll. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to get a towel to wipe the drool off of my Macbook.
